Monaghan, A A. 2014. Model metadata report for BGS - DECC shale study model, central and eastern Midland Valley of Scotland. British Geological Survey Internal Report, OR/14/050.

This modelling work together with new seismic and well interpretations were funded by the UK Government’s Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC; main contact Toni Harvey) as part of the DECC-BGS Midland Valley Carboniferous shale resource estimation (Monaghan, 2014[1]). Don Cameron undertook the seismic interpretation. BGS borehole, mining and map data were also incorporated into the 3D model — Tony Irving and Bill McLean undertook the majority of data collation over many years. Mike McCormac undertook a model quality control check on the modelled surfaces (before rock volumes were calculated for the resource estimation) using a standard BGS 3D model checking form. This report has been written to fulfil metadata requirements for inclusion in the National Geological Model.
