This bed is as described from north Norfolk. In the Hull-Brigg district, the Paradoxica Bed is a metre or less in thickness, has a rich brachiopod fauna, and is characterised by the bivalve Aucellina and the belemnite Neohibolites ultimus (Gaunt et al., 1992)
