Chalk Group Lithostratigraphy: Northern England - Maidlands Upper Marls

A marl pair separated by c. 2.6 m of chalk, the lower one comprising a 20-40 mm thick grey, silty and locally twinning marl, and the upper comprising a 40-50 mm thick chalky and gradational marl (Whitham, 1993).
