Chalk Group Lithostratigraphy: Northern England - High Stacks Flint

This is the highest true flint in the Chalk Group of northern England, and marks the top of the Burnham Chalk Formation and the top of the Lower Hagenowia rostrata Zone of Whitham (1991). It comprises a band of yellow-skinned, smooth, grey flint nodules, 30-50 mm thick.
