Chalk Group Lithostratigraphy: Northern England - Ferruginous Flint

This is a semitabular flint, up to 0.18 m thick (Wood & Smith, 1978), with pyrite-coated fracture surfaces, the oxidation of which produces a distinctive red or orange colour (Gaunt et al., 1992).
