Chalk Group Lithostratigraphy: East Anglia - Methwold Marl

The Methwold Marl was identified on borehole resistivity logs across East Anglia by Murray (1986), and correlated with the Grasby Marl of the northern England Chalk Group succession (Gaunt et al., 1994). It was recorded at a depth of 487.59 m in the Trunch Borehole [TG 2933 3455] in north Norfolk, and comprises a 2cm grey-green, laminated marl (Arthurton et al., 1994).
