The 'M3' limestone of Gale (1989) marks the junction of Cenomanian 1 and 2 (incorrectly stated as 'M4' in Gale et al., 1999). The top of this limestone bed is a non-sequence, representing a sequence boundary, and it is overlain by phosphatised intraclasts and glauconite grains, representing a transgressive systems tract (Gale et al., 1999). Above this is a thin succession representing a highstand.
