Found in the Mackerel Formation of the Central North Sea and at the top of the Lamplugh Formation in the Southern North Sea (Earliest Santonian or latest Coniacian, coranguinum Zone). An influx of of planktonic species occurs, including Marginotruncana marginata and M. pseudolinneiana. (See Hart et al., 1989; King et al., 1989). It is found at the top of the Lamplugh Formation of the Southern North Sea Basin.

Correlation: This biomarker can be placed at the top of BGS foraminiferal Biozone 16 (Wilkinson, 2000) (although onshore, rare and patchily distributed specimens range into BGS 18).
