An influx of of planktonic species occurs, including ''Marginotruncana marginata'' and ''M. pseudolinneiana''.  (See Hart ''et al''., 1989; King ''et'' ''al''., 1989).  It is found at the top of the Lamplugh Formation of the Southern North Sea Basin.

It is found at the top of the Lamplugh Formation of the Southern North Sea Basin.

Correlation: This biomarker can be placed at the top of BGS foraminiferal Biozone 16 (Wilkinson, 2000) (although onshore, rare and patchily distributed specimens range into BGS 18).
