Found in the Hidra Formation (Late Cenomania, geslinianum Zone)of the Southern and Central North Sea Basin. Planktonic species such as Hedbergella brittonensis and H. delrioensis are abundant and Rotalipora greenhornensis is occasionally present. Benthonic Stensioeina pokornyi may also occur in the Central North Sea. See Burnhill & Ramsay (1981), King et al. (1989) and Crittenden et al. (1991).

Correlation: This biomarker can be placed at the top of BGS foraminiferal Biozone 7 (Wilkinson, 2000).
