Recognised in the Rowe Formation of the Southern North Sea. (early Maastrichtian, lanceolata Zone). The biomarker is recognised only in Norfolk, eastern England, close to the lanceolata/occidentalis Zonal boundary (the position of the macrofaunal boundary is unclear according to Swiecicki, 1980MS), but in the southern North Sea its top is placed within the lanceolata Zone (King, 1989)
Correlation: This biomarker is herein provisionally placed at the top of the lanceolata Zone, at the top of BGS foraminiferal Biozone 24 (Wilkinson, 2000).
