During 1951 the reserves were assessed by a geologist who was seconded from British Guiana; a scheme for utilising the deposit is under consideration. A detailed geological survey of the Windward Islands, financed from Colonial Development and Welfare funds, has recently been commenced by Mr. P. H. A.
