The chitinozoans from the Rheidol Gorge section are being studied by TRAV and JDW. Twenty-one samples spanning most of our measured interval were collected for chitinozoans, almost all of which have yielded identifiable, often fairly well-preserved specimens (Figure 7). Nine species can be identified, four of which are currently in open nomenclature. All species occur essentially through the whole study interval and are representative of the ''Spinchitina maennili'' Biozone, which is characteristic of late Rhuddanian-early Aeronian strata in many regions.
