This report is the product of a study by the British Geological Survey (BGS) to test the suitability of a field based method to pre-concentrate micro-organics from surface and groundwaters using solid phase extraction. The reason for this is two-fold; i) to reduce the weight of transporting samples, particularly for overseas applications, ii) to reduce the potential impact of sample degradation during storage prior to solid phase extraction.<br />
