&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Faunal abundance &amp;amp; preservation&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;: Relatively closely spaced acmes of different groups of fossils are common in the zone, and were used by Jefferies (1963) to subdivide the Plenus Marls into a series of 8 beds. Aragonite-shelled molluscs are locally common, and are preserved as moulds.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Bio-markers&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;: The basal part of the zone contains common large, gryphaeate &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pycnodonte&amp;#039;&amp;#039; &amp;#039;&amp;#039;vesiculare&amp;#039;&amp;#039; associated with &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Orbirhynchia multicostata&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Jefferies, 1963). In the middle and higher parts of the zone &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Praeactinocamax plenus&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Oxytoma seminudum&amp;#039;&amp;#039; occur, overlain by an acme of &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Orbirhynchia wiesti&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Jefferies, 1963). Two acmes of &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Sciponoceras&amp;#039;&amp;#039; occur in the top of the zone, overlain by an acme of &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Crateraster quinqueloba&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Gale, 1996).&lt;br /&gt;
