Stop 3-3. Massive, pitted pelitic hornfels from the high grade end of Zone III. Fraochaidh transect. The pits represent the sites of weathered out cordierite crystals. The matrix surrounding the pits is rich in muscovite, biotite and quartz. Scale bar in cms.
